We are the Reliance Fire Company of West York, Pennsylvania. West York Borough is located just outside the City of York. We protect a population of approximately 5,000 residents, primarily comprised of residential, row home apartments, and elderly housing. Our department also responds as mutual aid to approximately 60,000 other residents in surrounding areas. Our fire department consists of having one paid driver on duty at all times and a volunteer squad of about thirty fully-trained firefighters, responding from one station. We are also the first department in the county to buy motorized fire apparatus, and the first in York County to hire paid personnel.
We responded to 700 runs in 2007. Our station houses:
